Biography

Jenny Blake studied fine art at Canterbury Christ Church College where she gained a first class honours degree in painting. She subsequently studied on The Drawing Year at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School). On graduating she won The Richard Ford Award, a drawing residency at the Prado Museum, Madrid. She was also artist-in-residence at Kensington Palace, London. She has a PGCE from the Institute of Education and has taught part-time with the Royal Drawing School's Drawing Clubs, in the Natural History Museum and at Harrow Art Centre. Jenny now teaches at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art and at Pimlico Academy. As well as being a private tutor, she has initiated art groups and taught life drawing courses in her own studio in London. Jenny is predominantly concerned with painting the figure and the landscape from life and from memory. Drawing is central to her practice as an artist.
