Biography

Max Naylor studied at Falmouth College of Art, Brighton University and on The Drawing Year at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School) in 2012. His work has been exhibited widely in London and the UK including at the MAC Birmingham and the 'Betweenlands' exhibition hosted by Blain Southern in 2014, and has been short-listed for the Jerwood Drawing Prize and the Pizza Express Contemporary Drawing Award. Naylor currently lives and works in London and teaches with the Royal Drawing School on The Drawing Clubs and at Drawing School Central. He has recently completed the Royal Drawing School's International Teaching and Art Residency in India. Naylor’s recent work uses ink on paper to depict spaces that have been observed, remembered and imagined. At times playful and abstract, these drawings are a collaboration between place, self and medium.
