On drawing

I use sketchbooks daily. Whatever is happening, I might draw it. I only work from observation, and only with my right hand. Why complicate what is hard? I am not afraid to show sorrow and pain. As my husband died last summer, I drew him. It forced me to see his suffering and his inexorable decline. I was denying the reality then I took out my sketchbook. He agreed. It's helpful now to see those works. I understand better what happened.
Now I draw the baby twins born the day he died. I see them grow and change each week. Yesterday I drew the stormy sky over London from the Royal Opera House balcony.
