This course offers a rare and valuable opportunity to paint from the life model in a sustained pose for the duration of the week. Students will focus particularly on the concepts of painting from perception with the course highlighting discoveries that can be made with the image evolving and transforming in ways that may not have been thought possible. You will be introduced to the artist’s palette (pigments, colour mixing, tonal and temperature value) and formal aspects such as space, composition and pictorial structure. One-to-one tuition will be given, and all levels of painting experience are welcome, including beginners.

Free charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the Studios. You can purchase cartridge paper and painting solvent in the studios at cost price. You will have to purchase and bring all other recommended materials with you; a material list will be sent out before the start of the course.

This course is for students 18 and over.

Unfortunately, we do not offer concessions on our holiday courses.
