Summer School // The Drawing Marathon - Weeks 1 & 2

Challenge the way you see and draw on our intensive Drawing Marathon.

Taught by over 20 different members of the Royal Drawing School's faculty, with a variety of models in the studios every day, this course is for anybody who wants to immerse themselves in the collective energy of an intensive drawing course and significantly improve their drawing skills. Students will be able to curate their own programme of drawing sessions from those on offer each day: drawing from life models, dancers and acrobats in the studio, in sketchbooks on the streets of London, and from art in galleries and museums. Students will also have the opportunity to explore printmaking and its relationship to drawing in our intaglio print room.

Individual guidance will be given throughout the course, there will also be opportunities to participate in group discussions with each day culminating in a critique of students' work and some sessions will include lectures by leading art historians, curators and practising artists. Drawing intensively every day, students will experience the collective creative energy that can result when a large group works together with purpose.

Free charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the Studios. There is an added paper fee for the use of cartridge and watercolour paper throughout the course.

Unfortunately, we do not offer concessions on our Summer School courses.

All of our course rates are subsidised and we also offer a comprehensive concessions scheme on our term-time courses. View all course fees and concessions.
