Spring Term 2024

Studio courses

In our Shoreditch studios, we continue to offer life drawing courses every day of the week both in the daytime and in the evening. This term there is the opportunity to explore the clothed model in Drawing: Costume, Opera and the Stage or The Person Observed: Drawing the Clothed Model. Students can also look more closely at the anatomy of the figure in Life Drawing and Anatomy: Mechanics of the Human Form or focus on the face in Drawing a Head or Drawing the Contemporary Portrait.

Printmaking courses now also run every day (with an online course now available on a Wednesday) and we have introduced a new Etching course on Thursday for those who want to focus on the basics of printmaking as well as  those wanting to take their drawing further into the medium. Courses also run on Saturday for students who struggle to find the time in the week.

Online courses

As ever, our Online Short Courses offers a similar curriculum to our in-person courses covering life drawing, printmaking, drawing from the imagination and drawing from art. The programme also takes advantage of being online through the use of technology and software. The Moving Image: Drawing into Animation is a chance to take your drawing practice in a new direction and create dynamism and narrative to a series of works whilst Digital Drawing: Life Observed delves into the new tools and opportunities that come with drawing on a tablet. Online courses also take students into the most impressive digital art collections in courses including: World Imagery: Drawing from Art, Drawing from Life; Drawing from the National Gallery; and Drawing Beyond: Museums without Walls.
