Autumn term sees the introduction of new courses and the return of longstanding ones. Transforming Observation: Dreaming, Memory and Imagination, is a playful and surprising exploration of drawing where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Mindfulness and Drawing (5-week course) opens a space for increased clarity and creativity with an emphasis on the present moment. From the National Gallery to the Street aims to build a bridge between sustained scrutiny of key paintings from the collection and direct observation of local street life, each informing the other. This term the Saturday sculpture course introduces the theme of movement, looking at how different cultures have imbued static sculpture with dynamic energy.

Life Drawing courses take place in the Shoreditch studios every day and evening with the return of Friday Evening Life Drawing. Other evening courses include Drawing Comics and Graphic Novels on a Monday and Nocturnal Interiors on a Tuesday. Out of house, Hogarth’s London draws on art history, methodology and observational drawing to delve into the life and mind of the satirical artist.

Our West London drawing programme continues at The London Sketch Club with daytime courses on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

For London art students, free weekly life drawing, etching and drawing from art evening courses take place throughout the term and Drop in Life Drawing for Young Artists takes place on a Saturday morning.
