Christmas Holiday Courses
Christmas Holiday courses are one-week courses which run during the holiday season in the studio and online:
4 - 8 December 2023; 11 - 15 December 2023; and 8 - 12 January 2024
Drawing by Raha Farazmand
Our holiday courses give students the opportunity to broaden their drawing practice; Either by taking it into a new medium, or by seeing how drawing can enrich their approach in an area of practice they are already familiar with.
Each course is a one-week, intensive period of study and practice, allowing you to immerse yourself in drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture. Joining one of our courses in the weeks leading up to Christmas and after, is a welcome antidote to busy shopping streets and a chance to spend quiet time in a creative flow, slowing down and making thoughtful marks on the page, etching plate, canvas or clay.
Popular course The Drawing Week is an opportunity to experiment and break out of your comfort zone, whilst Drawing into Painting is a structured week that will give students the skills and confidence to move from pencil to oil paint. Painting a Head, Drawing and Painting: The Contemporary Portrait and Sculpting a Head all focus on depicting the human head, each with their own approach. It is something that has intrigued and challenged artists for thousands of years and continues to, up to the present day.
The Etching Week provides the opportunity to expand your skills in the print room in a supportive and directed environment, whilst Life Painting offers a rare and valuable opportunity to paint from the life model in a sustained pose for the duration of the week.
