Our studios are open
This Autumn Term our studios will be open. We have put measures in place to keep our students, faculty and staff safe whilst they are in our main Shoreditch campus. We continue to run online courses for those who would like to continue learning from home.
Read on to see how we've made our studios Covid-safe...
How we're making the School Covid-safe
In order to ensure that we can welcome students back to draw with us we have put the following measures in place:
- Hand sanitiser on arrival and throughout the School
- One-way system in place throughout the building
- Social distancing in studios
- Well ventilated studios
- Combined studios 1 & 2 to allow for more space
- Smaller class sizes and staggered start times
- New measures for studios and materials usage
- Online courses for those who aren't able to return to the studios (see end)
We strongly encourage all our facilities visitors (i.e. staff, faculty, models and students alike) to get lateral flow tests a minimum of once a week before they come into the building, in accordance with the government guidelines. Tests are rapid and can be done at your nearest asymptomatic test site, or can be ordered for free and done at home (please see below for links). Results are available 30 minutes after taking a lateral flow test.
1 in 3 people with Covid-19 do not show symptoms, regular testing is vital to reducing the spread of the virus and keeping everyone safe.
Where to get tested:
Find your local test centre here
Order lateral flow test from the government website here
If you receive a positive test result you should not come into the building but begin self isolation immediately as per the government guidance and let the School know as soon as possible. We also advise that you do a PCR test to confirm the result.

Our studios are ready to welcome you back...
Public transport is up and running in London with safety measures in place, however we understand that some students might prefer a different mode of transport.
For students who are cycling to the studios, there are bike racks on Great Eastern Street and at the end of Charlotte road (south side). You can see the exact locations and others here
For students who are driving, here are some car parks which avoid the congestion charge:
The Old Truman Brewery carparks (15mins walk)
Euro Car Park Shoreditch (5mins walk)
New North Road carpark (10mins walk)
Students who are planning to come to the studios by foot can find walking routes on the TfL website here
Online courses are here to stay. For students living outside of London or abroad, those who have specific access needs or those who found it difficult to fit a course into a working week, our online programme will continue to run alongside our studio-based programme enabling you to draw with us, wherever you are. Continue to develop your practice from home - all you need is a good internet connection and your materials.
