Please complete the form below, following the instructions given. Applications close 5pm GMT Friday 10 May 2024. Submitted applications will be assessed by a Jury of distinguished artists, curators and art collectors in May 2024. Applications are reviewed by a jury panel according to the following criteria:
• Clarity of artistic vision as articulated in the artist statement and work samples
• Persuasive evidence that the applicant is committed in purpose and practice
• Clear evidence that the artist works at a professional level in his/her field
• Clear indications of the significance and critical role that the residency will play in the development of the artist's project
• Willingness to work in an urban environment and make the most of the opportunities offered by the residency
Artists applying for the Scholarship should show evidence of observation drawing in their practice. The purpose of the Scholarship is to help support an emerging artist and to nurture drawing as their foundation skill.
Residency dates:
London: 23 September - 30 November 2024 10 weeks
Dumfries House, Scotland: 30 November - 13 December 2024 2 weeks
Please note applications are only open to artists nominated by UC Davis. Visas are visiting artist's responsibility.
Please note residency applications will be held on the Royal Drawing School database for one year, after one year applications will be deleted.
