Digital Studio - Evening | Drawing Canines
In this live online drawing session, draw real dogs while exploring their rich and symbolic roles in folklore.
Experience a drawing class like no other.
These evening drawing sessions, broadcast live from the Royal Drawing School studios, are an opportunity for students to experience the dynamic and dramatic possibilities of the life room from home. Join students online from across the globe to draw from the model, theatrical sets, dancers, and more, with something new each week. Using a range of drawing practices, our expert tutors will guide you through a series of exercises over the course of each session.
In this session led by artist and tutor Hira Gedikoglu, students will have the unique opportunity to draw from real dogs while exploring the rich folklore and mythologies surrounding them. Dogs have long held a powerful place in storytelling across cultures, often appearing as guardians, guides, and companions in moments of transition. This workshop will weave together observational drawing and narrative tradition, inviting students to consider the symbolic resonance of dogs while developing skills to capture their form, movement, and spirit. All levels welcome.
