Biography

Becca May Collins studied at Plymouth University, before attending the Royal Drawing School and the Royal College of Art. Her work explores the development of sentimentality towards a site, concerned with highlighting the emotional relationships with home and place in an increasingly globalised world. She works with specific sites over a prolonged amount of time, drawing on-location to gain knowledge and understanding, before re-constructing these scenes from memory in the studio. Her images are warm and considerate, speaking a gentle narrative that reveals more about the landscape. Becca has work in public and private collections and is a New Contemporaries Artist for 2019.
