David Gentleman

David Gentleman has been one of Britain's leading graphic artists, whether in pen and brush or in printmaking, since the 1950s. His designs range from stamps and coins to the murals at Charing Cross tube station and to publicity for the Stop the War coalition. His talk tonight coincides with publication of a book of recent sketches of London, a city he has been drawing all his adult life, accompanied by his thoughts about looking and about London itself.
