Drawing in Watercolour: Portraits
This course aims to investigate the art of portrait making through the highly versatile medium of watercolour.
Working with a variety of techniques, the fluid and (at times) unpredictable nature of this medium will be explored at length. Drawing from models in the studio, a number of portraits will be made using watercolour and line to reveal both the visible and the invisible. Drawing inspiration from a one day visit to The Courtauld, participants will also be looking closely at some outstanding portrait paintings and studying the finest examples of watercolour in their recently refurbished Prints & Drawings Study Room.
